Simply download one of the applications listed below.
There are many ways to bring structure to your Zotero library for easier use. Start using these methods for a better research experience.
Collections are folders that enable you to categorize your references easily. You can view them in the left section of the window in Zotero for Firefox or Standalone.
To create a new collection, simply press the “New collection” button ( ) and enter a name.
To create a sub-collection inside an already existing collection, right click on the collection’s name and select “New Subcollection”.
Once the collection is created, you can add references to it by:
When you click on a reference, the area to the right of the window displays several with options.
Clicking “Notes” and then “Add” allows you to write text attached to the reference. These notes can help you keep track of your reading.
Tags, in a similar fashion, can be created by clicking the “Tags” tab and the “Add” button. Tags are homemade keywords you can attach to your references to make finding and categorizing them easier. Enter any tag you created in the search box to find all the references associated to it in your Zotero library.
When used in a Group library, Tags and Notes are very helpful to share insight and further collaboration.
Documents in PDF format can be added to Zotero to make them easier to find and consult.
