Collect references from a library catalogue or database

When performing a search in our library catalogue or in most databases, you can add references directly into Zotero. Once you have collected references, you can use Zotero to cite, create a bibliography, share information with colleagues and more.

Steps

  1. Open your web browser.
  2. Access the library catalogue or database of your choice.
  3. Perform a search.
  4. Click on the folder icon ( zotero folder icon ) to the right of the browser’s address bar.
  5. Check the boxes corresponding to the titles you would like to add to Zotero and click the Ok button.

Collect references from a website

You can add references to Zotero while surfing the general web as well.

If you see a colored icon to the right of the address bar in your browser (folder zotero folder icon , book zotero book icon , or sheet zotero sheet icon ), it means information is available for Zotero to capture.

Click the icon to add the reference of the web content you are viewing to your Zotero library.
